Elder KJ. Duncan is the Pastor and Founder of Lifeline Church; he is also a native of Jamaica, New York. From an early age, Kareem had been instructed by his grandmother in the ways and love of God. Though he did not accept the lord until later on in his life, Kareem always believed that there was a God, and for that reason he never strayed too far from the heart of God. As the Lord saw fit, following in the footsteps of his parents, Elder Elijah and Elder Terrie Boone, Kareem was called into the ministry and began training in the year 2000. In the year 2003, he was licensed to preach the Gospel, and in 2009 he was ordained as an Elder at Bethany Baptist Church located in the heart of Jamaica, New York by Reverend Darren M. Duncan (Pastor).
Under the tutelage of Reverend Darren M. Duncan, Elder Duncan served in the capacity of an Associate Minister. He was also appointed to serve the Lord by way of ministering as the Praise and Worship Leader and Male Choir Director at Bethany Baptist Church. Bethany is not a traditional Baptist Church, for it is known to be a radical place of worship and praise. Although Elder Duncan’s primary calling is teaching/preaching God’s word, God has gifted him with the ability to ‘raise the praise” in any praise and worship service.
Elder Duncan has completed his undergraduate studies at the Eastern Theological Consortium Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Christ Theological Seminary located in Yonkers, New York. Elder Duncan is now a graduate of the Christ Theological Seminary having received his Associate Degree of Theology in 2005, his Bachelor of Theology in 2006, and his Master of Theology in 2009. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Theology.
Elder Duncan is married to Elect Lady LaVerne Duncan, a God fearing woman, his help-meet and soul mate. As he so often states, “She is the best thing in his life besides Christ’. They have four lovely children, Jazmine, Christopher, Kareema and Kareem Jr.
